Onion Sites is a small, independently run directory. We list verified, legitimate .onion services — search engines, encrypted email, established newsrooms, and whistleblower tools. We don’t list marketplaces, forums, or anything we can’t verify against the operating organization’s own website.
Why We Built This
Most link lists calling themselves a “hidden wiki” fall short. They are either abandoned, copied wholesale from other abandoned lists, or padded with unverified addresses to look comprehensive. So we wanted something smaller and more honest instead. Our list covers only onion services from organizations we can actually confirm. We recheck them regularly, rather than letting them rot.
How We Verify Listings
We cross-check every address in our directory directly against the operating organization’s own clearnet website or official documentation, and we never copy addresses from another directory. If an organization retires or rotates its onion service, we update or remove the listing quickly, rather than leave a dead link standing.
What We Don’t Do
We don’t list marketplaces, forums, or any service we can’t independently verify. This site exists to help people safely find legitimate onion services, not to catalog the dark web in its entirety.
